Compassionate Parenting Live Online Course
Compassionate Parenting is about learning how to parent with your child, rather than constantly feeling at odds with them — whilst also learning how to stay connected to yourself.
This course offers a compassionate, realistic approach to parenting that recognises how exhausting, emotionally charged, and confusing it can be — especially when we’re carrying our own stress, histories, or overwhelm.
We will explore:
What compassionate parenting really means (and what it doesn’t — this is not permissive or “anything goes” parenting)
How stress, fatigue, and the nervous system affect our responses as parents
Why we often react in ways we later regret — and how to interrupt that cycle
How to respond to challenging behaviour with firmness and care
Ways to set clear, loving boundaries without shouting, withdrawing, or guilt
How to practise self-compassion when parenting feels hard or messy
Simple reflective and mindfulness practices to support calm, clarity, and repair
How to handle the inevitable challenges with Grace and Power.
The emphasis throughout is on progress, not perfection, and on learning practical tools you can actually use in everyday family life.
Over four weekly 90-minute sessions, we’ll explore gentle strategies, with lots of practical tools, and reflective exercises to help you nurture both your child and yourself.
The course draws on compassion-based approaches, mindfulness, and current understanding of emotional regulation — presented in a grounded, accessible way.
Who is this course for?
This course is for:
Parents/carers who care deeply about their children but often feel exhausted, reactive, or overwhelmed
Parents who want to move away from shouting, guilt, or “losing it” — without becoming passive or disconnected
Those who feel torn between different parenting approaches and want something more humane and sustainable
Parents who want to break unhelpful patterns they grew up with, without blaming themselves/others
Anyone who wants to parent with more steadiness, warmth, and self-trust
You don’t need to be calm, mindful, or “good at meditation” to join. You just need a willingness to reflect, practise, and be kind to yourself along the way. This is a supportive, non-judgemental space. There is no parenting-shaming here — just honest exploration and shared learning.
Bonus:
Free access to the pre-recorded course and toolkit worksheets so you can revisit the material at your own pace.
Course Tutor
Chris Allen is Whispering Wisdom's founder. Alongside her professional background, she brings lived experience. Parenting two children as a single parent, like many families, she faced her share of challenges, with one child struggling with depression, that led to choosing home education to support her wellbeing.
Those years shaped her understanding of how complex, emotionally demanding, and deeply human parenting can be — and why compassion for ourselves as parents is just as important as care for our children.
