Theme: Connection

We are delighted to invite children and young people to enter our free poetry competition exploring the theme of connection.

Connection can mean so many things. It might be the bond between friends. A love of nature. A grandparent’s hand. A pet. A memory. A place. A feeling. A dream.

What do you feel connected to?

We welcome poems that are thoughtful, playful, curious, heartfelt, imaginative or surprising. There is no “right” way to write about connection — we are interested in your voice.

Poem Guidelines and Prize

• Maximum 12 lines 

• Any style of poetry is welcome

• Free to enter

• One entry per person

Prizes

One winner from each age category will receive:

• A beautiful notebook

• Publication on the Whispering Wisdom website and social media

Selected poems may also be shared (with consent) to celebrate the creativity of young writers in our community.

Safeguarding

Because this competition is for under 18s, we require consent from a parent or guardian.
All entries must be submitted through our online form by a parent or guardian, who will provide their contact details and confirm permission for publication.

We care deeply about creating a safe, respectful space for young people’s voices to be heard.
